Hi, my name is Julia.
I am lucky enough to live in an area that I truly believe is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever been to. Waves crashing, pelicans gliding and sea lions sunbathing are all sights I see on a daily basis. I love to walk and run the coastal paths, to paddleboard out onto the ocean and watch the ripples and light play across the surface. I get so much inspiration from this beautiful world. I show my love and respect for this land through my art, with my paintbrush. I love to combine elements of what is around me, in a way they would often not be found, however close geographically they are. My goal is to convey the beauty that surrounds us, to appreciate what we are lucky enough to have. I like to paint subjects in a way that I feel shows their nature, to show respect for each creature, and hi-light their beauty and grace. I combine elements often within a frame, like a secret window, into another world or universe, which I hope the observer can appreciate.
